Date to be confirmed (Novemberish) - BIRTHDAY PARTY
2012 marks the 30th Year that LEIVERS DANCE has been open since it was founded by Michelle Leivers
back in 1982.
We thought this would be a perfect time therefore to celebrate and invite both current and former students
to a party. As soon as this is booked I will let you all know.

29th July 2012 - GODIVA FESTIVAL
we have been asked to participate in the GODIVA FESTIVAL again. This year I believe that the

event will be bigger than normal due to the Olympics. Please try to keep the date free as it is later this year
than normal but we would still like to attend with a big group - I think we had the largest group there
last year so brilliant  attendance from everybody - lets see if we can do it again this year.

Date to be confirmed - SUMMER SCHOOL
each year we hold a summer school for all of our members, this is a fun packed day with lots of games,
facepainting, Choreography, costume design, and much more. it is held during the summer holidays and
we be at a location between all of our branches to ensure that it is accessible to all of our students.
We try to have an early start and a later finish to make it a bit easier for working parents to drop the
children off without disrupting your day.

2nd June 2012 - DEMONSTRATION
we may be dancing for a Queens Jubilee celebration at Exhall Old School. This is not yet confirmed.
This will mainly be opened to the seniors as I am at a wedding on that day and therefore unable to attend.
Please can any seniors who are interested in participating in this let me know at classes.

Date to be confirmed - SLEEPOVER
for charity. Some of you may remember a few years ago we had a sleepover
where we teach on a Saturday, I have spoken with them and we are going to do this again this year.
It will be some time during the spring when the weather is nice, as they have a nice outside area which
we can use also but which is closed off to the public. I will confirm dates as soon as I know them.

Classes the week after the show will be party week and you can wear fancy dress and can bring a friend
along with you. We will be doing games, some of your own choreography and having lots of fun to say
thank you for working so hard towards the show.

25th February and 3rd March 2012 OUR SHOW
WELL DONE AND THANK YOU to everybody who took part in our show ANYTHING GOES.
You were all brilliant.
You all worked very hard and it was a long day for everybody so really well done. The show went very well
and I was very pleased to see everybody enjoying themselves back stage and when you were dancing on
the stage so really well done. You should all be extremely proud of yourselves. There will be DVD's available
to order from Charlotte at classes I am now looking for a venue which is nearer to our branches
so that we can keep the next one closer and therefore a keep the costs down.

 14th and 15th February 2012
I would like to say a huge thank you and well done to all of the children who attended rehearsals for our 2012
show ANYTHING GOES. You all did brilliantly and all of the dances are coming together really well so thank you
to all of you who attended. Also a massive THANKYOU to all of the parents, aunts, uncles, friends and
grandparents who gave children lifts to the rehearsals.
I think that both days were a great success and I am now very excited for the show. The costumes looked brilliant
as did all of the dances.

If any of you are yet to buy tickets or need more tickets please see Charlotte at your next class as we do still have
a few (not many) left.

Pictures to follow!!

February 25th 2012  March 3rd 2012

We are quickly approaching the time when we will be doing our show. As you know we have been working toward this for
some time and I think that the children are as excited as we are for you to see all of their hard work.

We have put this pack of information together for you. We have tried to be very mindful of the expense with everything
we have done as we understand that these things can add up. This is also why we wanted to give all of the information out
now before Christmas, just incase there was anything in here which could go on Christmas lists.

In this information pack there are several letters and forms which need to be returned and there is information about
rehearsals we have during half term and on the days of the show. There  is also information which we need back from
you before the show in order for us  to get exception letters for all of the children from the council to say that they are
allowed to perform. Its nothing to worry about, its just due to their school hours.

If there is anything which you want to know which isn’t in here please do ask one of us and we will be more than happy to help.

The show will consist of two dance Schools, LEIVERS DANCE and CAMEO DANCE. Our two dance schools do a lot of work
together as all of the teachers danced together growing up so our schools have the same styles of teaching and the same ethos.
As a result of it being two schools working together we are trying to ensure that some rehearsals are in Coventry and some are
in Polesworth. All children from both schools are receiving all of the same information for the show and it will be great for them
all to meet up at the rehearsals.

There are several dates for you to keep in the diary these are

Tuesday February 14th – rehearsal

Wednesday February 15th – rehearsal

Saturday February 25th – SHOW

Saturday 3rd March – SHOW

If you require any more information please don’t hesitate to ask, and we hope you enjoy watching the show as much as we
have enjoyed working towards it.

Many Thanks
Rehearsals
We will have the following rehearsals taking place. We appreciate that these are in half term and that you may not all be able to attend
however they are important so please do try to attend. We have also tried to divide the locations of the rehearsals to keep it fair in terms
of travel for each child. We will therefore be holding a rehearsal in Polesworth and one in Coventry

14th February - Hearsall primary school £7.50 (£10 for 2 children in same family). Postcode CV5 6LR Times 0900- 16.30

15th Febrauary  Memorial hall £7.50 (£10 for 2 children in same family) Postcode B781DT Times 0900- 16.30

These rehearsals will be a perfect opportunity for all of the children who are in the show to meet each other and to work together. There
are also some dances where there are children who attend classes on different days so it will give them a chance to rehearse ttogether.
We may also be taking some photos which will be for the show. It will also be a great chance for them to see all of the other dances which
will be in the show.

Please ensure that children bring all costumes with them in their costume box. Please also bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.

If you have any questions please call one of us on the numbers at the bottom of the page.

Please return the form below before we break up for Christmas.

Many thanks Harriet, Liz and Charlotte

Stivichall Fete
Well done to the Juniors and Seniors that danced at Stivichall school Fete. It was a shame that  I was not there to see it but I have
heard that you all did a great job. Thanks to you all for going. You always make us very proud and it is always lovely to see such a
large turnout.

Well done!!!

Godiva Festival 2011- July 2nd
Well done to all 75 members of Leivers dance that participated at the Godiva Festival this year,  I think that
we had the biggest group in terms of attendance so we were extremely proud of you all. You all danced very
well and everyone behaved in a way which made us very proud. I know it was a bit of a rush to get from our
performance to the begining of the carnival but we just about made it.

Again huge thanks and congratulations to all of you that participated.

Coming Soon!!!
2011 and 2012 are going to be extremely exciting years for Leivers Dance and all of the pupils. We have a
huge number of things to be working towards culminating in a show in February 2012.
To give you an insight into what you can expect in the coming months. The first half of the year will consist
of Inter School Exams - Children will be working towards their inter school exams during classes and
will have the opportunity to take their interschool exams in Ballet, Tap, Acrobatics and modern dance.
These are not something any of the children need to worry about. Throughout the first term we are running
a New members competition - Current members have been given leaflets and the winner will be
announced the last week before February half term. The person who introduces the most new
members will win the prize. We are running this competition due to the exciting times ahead of us as we
think that it will be perfect timing for new people to join us and see all of the fantastic things which we do.
The summer will consist of many Fetes and School demonstrations and we hope to participate in the
Godiva Festival once again this year. We are also hoping to be holding a Summer school again this year.
This will be during the school holidays and there was a fantastic turn out last year. It would however be great
if we could get a few more along this year especially with the upcoming show. It will be a chance for you all
to celebrate your hard work and to meet some of the people that you will be doing the show with.

End of term party classes. Fancy dress, choreography and party games in the last class of each term. Children are
also invited to bring a friend.

way. They are awarded medals and certificates. Harriet will keep parents informed of the next dates for medal tests.
·        Godiva Festival. Children are invited to perform in town and also to be part of the Godiva Carnival Procession.
A fun packed day and a chance to take part and represent Leivers Dance in one of the biggest annual events in
Coventry.

Harriet will keep parents informed of the next performances.

the summer holidays.

New starter competition

We have launched a competition between all current members. The competition is to see how many new members you
get to join dancing before the October half term. The amount of people that join dancing and bring a leaflet with your
name on (or say that you have told them about us) will win the competition and there will be a prize for the winner.
The prize will be a DVD or CD.
