What are you looking for?
-To grow your child's confidence - our weekly superstar awards and achievement cards help with this, along with our annual awards and inter school competition, celebrating each dancers individual success and achievement. We focus greatly on children celebrating their individual achievements.
- Somewhere they will make friends - We offer regular classes where children will make lifelong friends in a kind and supportive environment. Dance is a social activity and one which can really help to build friendships. It particularly supports shy children in building friendships through its structure as they can join in during class, making friends without having to chat too much to people until they are ready to. Its a really great way to build strong friendships.
- To reduce screen time and keep your child active - Dance is perfect for this. Children will be having so much fun they wont even think about their devices. We ask that dancers don't bring mobil devices to class and if they do need to, that they hand them in. Its lovely to see them all chatting and making friends in the changing rooms, rather than looking at a screen. I'm certainly glad of it for my children.
-A hobby for my child where they can be themselves, I know they are safe and happy and something that isn't going to cause stress in our already busy life. We understand that life is busy! It seems to be getting busier by the day and the juggle is very real. That's why we try to keep a really relaxed approach to our classes and events. Yes we like to give opportunities to dancers, but not if its going to cause too much stress for parents. Our uniform is all based around a couple of items to keep it easy and stress free, our events are often on dancers normal day of classes at their normal location so as not to cause disruption and we understand that people have other commitments. Yes we offer more for those who want it but you don't have to!
Something that will help my child in future - We work closely with our dancers to develop more than just dance. We support many dancers through their Duke of Edinburgh award as well as dancers having the opportunity to work towards a Teaching Assistant qualification with Acrobatic Arts, Work Experience, CV writing and references and so much more.

A Little Background Information
Established in 1982 by Michelle Leivers the dance school is now run by Michelle Leivers and Charlotte Leivers, with the support of Miss Nicole and Miss Megan as well as several dance coaches.
Our Directors are both qualified with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), in addition to holding further certifications in their areas of expertise. LDS teachers are following the LDS teaching programme and working closely with the Directors to develop their teaching skills and knowledge. Our Directors and Several teachers hold their 1st Aid Certificates . LDS closely follow the "Every Child Matters" Government initiative for Safeguarding and Child Welfare and have an appointed Child Welfare Officer.
